Welcome from the Artistic DirectorWelcome to the Second Annual Ranelagh Arts Festival! 2005 saw the first ever Arts Festival in Ranelagh, which was a roaring success. The Festival brought together countless residents of the Ranelagh area and contributed to strengthening a sense of community in the village. Our mission for this year’s Festival is to make it even bigger and better than 2005. In keeping with our aim of creating a diverse programme with something to suit all ages and tastes, we have treats in store for the youngest residents of Ranelagh right up to the Golden Oldies! Without doubt, the most exciting event lined up for 2006 is the Beat Club night on Saturday, 30th September in Mount Pleasant Tennis Club, when a host of Ireland’s rock stars from the 1960s will reunite to conjure up those heady days when we first heard of rock ’n’ roll! Other highlights this year include a traditional Irish music night, the Open Day in Ranelagh Gardens, an evening dedicated to Maeve Brennan and the return of the Cinemobile, a mobile cinema showing a range of movies. I would like to pay a special tribute to our sponsors, whose support has made the Festival possible. I strongly encourage the residents of Ranelagh to support those businesses that have partnered with and funded the Festival. Further details of all events are available on this site. And be sure to come along to as many events as you can and enjoy the community spirit in Ranelagh! Terry Connaughton
